How to Avoid Recruitment Fraud: A Checklist for Job Seekers Going Abroad

Every year many job seekers lose money to fake agents and fake job offers. A few simple checks protect you.

Before you apply

  • Work only with government-authorised recruitment agencies and check their licence.
  • Visit the agency’s office — a real business has a real address.
  • Be careful with offers received only through social media or messaging apps.

Warning signs

  • Very high salary for little experience
  • Pressure to pay quickly or in cash without a receipt
  • No interview or trade test at all
  • No written offer letter or contract
  • Requests to travel on a visit visa “to work later”

Protect your documents

Keep copies of your passport and certificates, never sign blank papers, and always ask for a written receipt for any payment.

If something feels wrong

Stop, ask questions and verify. A genuine recruiter will be happy to explain every step. You can always contact Global Drive to check an offer.
